About Jordan

I'm Jordan Ashton, a successful adult improver with a passion for chess and teaching. I am on the Board of Directors for the Ocean State Chess Association (OSCA), the official Rhode Island State Affiliate for USCF. I am also a Tournament Director for many tournaments hosted throughout the state. Recently, I reached a peak USCF rating of 1600 under my coach’s guidance.

I focus on making chess fun and engaging. For beginners, I help build a solid foundation in opening principles, tactics, endgames, and classic games. For intermediates, I offer a structured, enjoyable approach to decision-making, more advanced tactics, and search techniques.

As President and founder of the Cranston Chess Club in Rhode Island, I’m dedicated to helping you improve and enjoy the process. Let’s unlock your potential.
